Lawsuit filed in crash involving Alabama cheerleaders bus

Attorneys Jere Beasley and Chris Glover of Montgomery based law firm Beasley, Allen, Crow, Methvin, Portis & Miles, P.C. and Russell Blank of Georgia filed a lawsuit in the Circuit Court of Montgomery County, Ala., alleging negligence, gross negligence and wantonness that resulted in the wrongful death of Natalie Baine. Ms. Baine was killed in an automobile crash January 8, 2013, when the car she was riding in collided with a charter bus and another vehicle.

Ms Baine was a student at the University of Alabama and returning from the National Championship football game when the crash occurred. Two of the defendants in the case are also students at the University of Alabama. Ms. Baine was an occupant in a vehicle driven by Hudson Riedel, President of the Sigma Chi fraternity, and owned by Sigma Chi member Thomas Matheney. The complaint alleges the Defendants failed to act reasonably and use proper care while driving.
